Our client is a well-known brand in providing solutions in the building materials & equipment industry. Being a leader in the market, they are currently servicing many of the worlds’ major companies, and have received many industry accolades. They are now inviting a General Manager to join its Singapore team as part of their expansion plan for Southeast Asia.
As part of the senior management team, the General Manager will be responsible to develop and improve the strategy for Southeast Asia. He/She is the decision-maker and first salesman/commercial head of the business. He/She also oversees all operations (business management, procurement, financials, warehouse etc) to ensure the accuracy, quality and customer orientation. His/Her responsibilities consist of constructing the long- and mid-term strategic goals, the yearly business plan and ensuring that the results concerning profit, market share and sales are met.
The General Manager should be well informed of the latest technological developments and holds an excellent understanding of the product and its application. His/Her product knowledge ensures that clients respect, trust and value his/her opinions. He/She will act as a knowledgeable partner for discussion with owners of businesses, as well as General Managers, Buyers and Technical Experts of different companies.
The ideal candidate should have a Degree in Engineering and Business Administration with at least 10 years of working experience with 5 years in a leadership role within the building materials and/or construction industry. Experience in Project business is advantageous. He/She has proven strategic, analytical and commercial skills and is able to develop the market for company products by explaining and demonstrating the market the abilities of a modern equipment system. The General Manager is able to understand customer needs and develop the best technical solution.
