About our client:
Our client is a leading manufacturing MNC with its regional headquarters in Singapore, they already have established I.T. operations in the region, with a fully staffed team providing services in Systems, Infrastructure and Desktop to internal users. It is also providing a full suite of ERP services to business users. The company is now embarking on an ambitious initiative to roll out advanced manufacturing services in Asia Pacific including implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Automation Systems as a part of this initiative, the company would like to combine the responsibilities of I.T. and Advanced Manufacturing Services under a single leadership and is seeking an experienced Head of IT to join the senior management team and lead this new combined function.
About the role:
This person must have experience managing an I.T. team to provide the full suite of I.T. services to users. Would also require the person to have digital manufacturing experience, in particular, experience with implementing IoT Connectivity, MES systems, SAP Implementation, Warehouse Automation and Factory Automation systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with passion in digital manufacturing to join the company and get into the midst of shifting the frontier of manufacturing. This person should have the strategic view of managing the roadmap for digital manufacturing and yet be comfortable enough to get into day-to-day implementation details in order to ensure that the projects are delivered to schedule, budget and quality goals. The ideal candidate with a degree in Computer Science, information systems or equivalent having an overall experience of more than 15 years and a minimum of 8-10 years of leadership experience in a discrete manufacturing environment or large and heavy part manufacturing should have good business knowledge and will be responsible for leading and motivating a team across the APAC region.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the leadership and change management of the combined I.T. and Advanced Manufacturing Services function
• Member of the steering committee to oversee the implementation of advanced manufacturing services in Asia Pacific
• Possess excellent project management skills to develop and rollout I.T. solutions
• Lead negotiation of technical and commercial contract terms with vendors
• Recruit and develop I.T. and Digital Manufacturing staff
• Responsible for full I.T. function for Asia Pacific region
• Responsible for maintenance and enhancement of full scope of SAP system, including FI, CO, PP, QM, MM, WM, SD, CS, BW, BI and Business Objects
• Manage a team of internal SAP consultants to deliver solutions to meet company’s requirements
• Manage a team to provide Systems and Infrastructure services to users
• Ensure IT support services are provided to users and such support services meet user expectations
• Owner of the MES model for the factory; Work closely with global HQ to evaluate, propose and implement the MES system for the factory
• Responsible to develop new features, improve existing functionalities and design a high availability web architecture that connects all the parts of the IoT systems within manufacturing.
• Lead the team to evaluate existing processes and identify and develop automation solutions to improve productivity and reduce reliance on labour
• Maintain systems for reliability and upgrade systems for higher productivity
• Work closely with the warehouse automation team to understand the technologies and systems required for the warehouse. Assess and select appropriate technologies and systems suitable for the automation
