The role of the Associate/Executive, Standards & Practices is to ensure that high quality censorship and editing of shows are performed to conform to censorship guidelines across the Asia region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform high quality in-house censorship of programs of different genres according to the guidelines of SEA territories, and propose appropriate rating of the program.
- Assist the Managers in providing resolutions to requests/ enquiries/ complaints from other departments or the Public.
- Research on the nature of the programs and possible history of complaints where required, and highlight to the Team.
- Compile and prepare censorship reports with clear instructions for editing. Discussions with editor on some edits may sometimes be required.
- Handle and resolve enquiries from other departments regarding the programs' content and rating, and provide justifications to a program's rating when necessary.
- Highlight inconsistencies in a particular programme's content to the Programming department, and propose solutions in resolving these inconsistencies.
- Assist in reviewing and editing of old programs, and propose a new rating or new version where necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Media, Mass Communications or relevant discipline.
- Fresh graduates can apply. Relevant experience in the broadcasting industry and/or censorship of programs is a plus.
- Loves consuming and watching Hollywood-inspired English and Asian entertainment.
- Meticulous, and has an eye and ear for detail.
- Sensitive to issues regarding censorship in Asia.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Japanese (at least JLPT N3 level).
- Able to perform and deliver within tight deadlines, including working on weekends and public holidays for tight-turnaround programmes when required.
